Anbesol Teething Gel is a rapid-action pain-reliever, effective for teething pains, denture irritation and frequently recurring mouth ulcers. This effective formulation contains Lidocaine hydrochloride, an anaesthetic and two antiseptics namely cetylpyridinium chloride and Chlorocresol. The anaesthetic alleviates the pain completely, while the antiseptics effectively destroy the bacteria and prevents infection.
Never use this medication more than recommended. It is best to consult with your dentist or your doctor and avoid the use of Anbesol Teething Gel in case: ? You are allergic or sensitive to lidocaine hydrochloride or any such anaesthetics. ? You are allergic to cetylpyridinium chloride or chlorocresol or any other constituents of the medicine. ? You are suffering from Porphyria. ? You have some damaged or broken patches in your mouth?s lining since these could lead to excessive absorption of active ingredients which may prove to be hazardous. ? The symptoms are recurring quite frequently or the symptoms continue unabated despite 7 days of application of the medicine. It is better to discuss the issue with your dentist or doctor and seek appropriate advice.
Use clean fingertips to apply a dab of Anbesol Teething Gel gently on to the ulcers or the sore areas. Two applications are usually enough to get pain-relief temporarily. You may use the medicine at the most, every 3 hours. For baby?s teething issues one application on the sore gum areas would be effective.
