Benylin Child Night is a type of sedating antihistamine that is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of cough and cold. It is effective in providing relief from nasal allergies, sore throat, dry cough and hay fever.
The formulation is not recommended for use in children below six years of age. Do not use if your child is allergic to any of the active or inactive ingredients. Keep away from the reach of children. Discontinue use and talk to a doctor in case symptoms persist or worsen after five days of use. Consult before using if your child is coughing up yellowish or blood-stained phlegm or is having difficulty in breathing.
The formulation should be taken orally. It is ideal for use in children above the age of six years. The standard dose is two 5ml spoonfuls to be given after every six hours. Do not administer more than four doses within twenty four hours. Do not use for more than five days at a stretch without consulting a doctor. Discontinue use and seek medical advice in case of any adverse reaction or worsening of symptoms.
Benylin Child Night cough syrup contains Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride 7.0 mg and Levomenthol 0.55 mg as the active ingredients. Also contains as excipients Sodium benzoate, Sodium citrate, Citric acid monohydrate, Sodium carboxymethylcellulose 7MXF, Saccharin sodium, Sorbitol 70% (non crystalline), Glycerol, Ethanol 96%, Concentrated raspberry essence and Purified water.
