Canesten Pessary is used to treat vaginal thrush (candidiasis) in women. It is an antifungal preparation that is used to treat and reduce the symptoms of candidiasis (a fungal infection).
Always read the product manual thoroughly before use so as to ensure the correct method of application. Do not use the preparation in case you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Consult your doctor before use in case you are below sixteen or above sixty years of age. However, since the pessary is to be inserted in the vagina, it is not recommended for pediatric use. Also let your doctor know in case you are pregnant, plan to have a baby or are already nursing. Do not use pessary during menstrual flow.
Always wash your hands thoroughly both before and after application of the pessary. Insert gently into the vaginal passage using the applicator preferably at night or while you are at rest. Always consult your doctor in case the symptoms do not subside even after seven days.
Clotrimazole 500mg is the active ingredient in Canesten Pessary. The formulation also contains Hypromellose, Colloidal Anhydrous Silica, Magnesium Stearate, Pentahydrate Calcium Lactate, Crospovidone, Maize Starch, Lactic Acid, Microcrystalline Cellulose and Lactose Monohydrate as excipients.
