Cetraben Emollient Cream is a moisturizing emollient that is applied on the skin for symptomatic treatment of eczema. Available in a handy bottle with a dispensing pump, the emollient effectively reduces the severity of chapped, dry and damaged skin that is typically associated with eczema.
The emollient is not for the use of children. Adults who are sensitive to any of the active or inactive ingredients should not use it either. You may experience mild adverse reactions such as redness of skin or appearance of rashes, although this is very rare. In such cases, discontinue use immediately and consult your physician.
Apply the emollient immediately after bath while the skin is still moist. This helps in better absorption and moisture retention. Use liberally on the affected surface for at least thrice a day. Always rub in gently along the direction of hair growth. Do not rub vigorously in an up-and-down motion as this may block the hair follicles leading to further itching or inflame the skin further. You can continue to use the emollient even after the eczema has subsided as this will improve the texture of your skin and prevent similar flare-ups in the future.
White paraffin BP 13.2%w/w is the prime ingredient in Cetraben Emollient Cream. The formulation also contains Emulsifying wax BP, Methylparaben (E218), Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol BP, Butylparaben, Glycerin BP, propylparaben (E216), Ethylparaben (E214), Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol BP and sterile water.
