Diocalm Ultra Capsules are an effective treatment for combating diarrohoea in a fast and sustained manner. It helps replenish the vital fluids and electrolytes lost from body during acute diarrhea.
Do not use Diocalm Ultra Capsules if you are allergic to any of its major or minor ingredients. The medicine is also not indicated as a primary treatment in patients suffering from acute dysentery, ulcerative colitis, bacterial entercolitis or pseudomembranous colitis. Patients with hepatic impairment should use this medication with caution. Also pregnant women, women to plan to have a baby soon or those who are nursing must consult their doctors before taking this medication.
The capsules should taken orally by swallowing whole and should never be opened or chewed. The standard dose for the elderly, adults and children above the age of twelve years is two capsules (4mg) initially followed by one capsule (2mg) to be taken after each occurrence of diarrhoea. You can take a maximum of up to six capsules in a 24 hours time span. The capsules are not recommended to be given to children below the age of twelve years.
The active ingredient in Diocalm Ultra Capsules is Loperamide Hydrochloride 2.0mg. The formulation also contains Microstalline Cellulose (Avicel PH101), Croscarmellose Sodium, Dried Pregeleatinised Starch, Dimethicone, Black Iron oxide (E172), Yellow Iron Oxide (E172), Titanium Dioxide (E171), Indigo Carmine (E132) and Gelatin
